Supportive Housing

Volunteers of America Southeast's Supportive Housing Program is designed to provide safe transitional housing to intact homeless families with children. The program assists these families in becoming self-sufficient and in acquiring permanent housing. The Supportive Housing Program helps those families who can not achieve housing through traditional housing programs because of family size, history, urgency of need, and other cirmumstances.

The Transitional Housing Program currently has the capacity to serve up to eight families at any given time, utilizing scattered-site leased housing. As such, security is not provided, there are no curfews, and occupants are not required to sign in or check out of their place of residence. However, occupants are required to attend scheduled appointments and classes as would be outlined in a family service plan. This service is currently the only transitional housing option for intact homeless families in the Mobile, AL area.
