Volunteers of America Southeast demonstrates that “there are no limits to caring” through our programs for housing and home ownership. It is our goal to create home ownership opportunities for low- to moderate-income families. Volunteers of America Southeast is building affordable housing throughout our community and then helping families acquire financing in order to purchase their home. This program is all about the American dream of owning your own home.
Southeast Steel Framing, LLC was created in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. It is solely owned by Volunteers of America Southeast for the purpose of creating sustainable and environmentally friendly homes and businesses. Homes built with steel framing are fire, mold, and mildew resistant and engineered to meet or exceed all wind speed-related code requirements. In addition, we are creating jobs as well as providing work force training. Ballington Builders was created as a non-profit company to develop and construct affordable homes.
In addition to traditional wood frame houses, Ballington Builders offers affordable homes that utilize the latest energy efficient building methods, including modular and structural insulated panels (SIPS). We also offer various energy efficient and "green" materials and designs that dramatically reduce energy cost. In conjunction with our partners at Southeast Steel, we offer reasonably priced steel frame homes that combine the very best technologies to create a home that is highly resistant to wind damage, fire, mold or insects, and can significantly lower your insurance premiums.
